Our office does not accept most Vision (Discount) Plans. This decision was made so that Dr. French would be able to make the best vision recommendations and medical decisions to meet the needs of his patients. We do currently accept the WV PEIA Humana EyeMed plan and any defined contribution plans (such as American Benefits, Benefit Assistance, etc.)
Thanks to the trust the State of WV has placed in the Optometric profession our office is able to accept most medical insurances. Medical insurances can be billed if there is an injury, disease, infection, or chronic condition of the eyes (Dry Eye Syndrome, Diabetes, Cataracts, Glaucoma, Hypertension with retinopathy, etc.) If you are unsure if we accept your medical insurance or if your condition will be covered, please call the office.
Dilating the eyes allows Dr. French to see the entire inside of your eyes. This is important as you can have great vision, but may have a condition that will impair your ability to see later on in life. Your eyes will be dilated for your first exam in our office. Thereafter Dr. French will discuss the need for follow-up dilations.
